Last year, driving my Suzuki, I fell asleep at the wheel and it took over to slam on the brakes and saved my life. I am therefore loathed to turn off such features. HOWEVER!

I get two types of very annoying warnings. The red warning tells me of apparent imminent risk of a collision and displays a car on the display behind the wheel of a car which isn't there.. it seemingly always does this on just certain roads I drive on. When I say there is no car there, the road can be totally devoid of other traffic and it still happens. Occasionally, so convinced is it that this collision is imminent it engages the brakes, it's quite scary but, of course, invaluable should I doze off (which I have not).

The other is a yellow 'keep control of the vehicle' warning. Took me an age to work out what causes it. Turns out it is my hand position. If I am on a slight bend where the wheel needs to turn just a few degrees, it flashes on even though my left hand would be between 9-10 whilst my right is between 1-2 as opposed to 10-2. This is entirely because the bend is too slight to justify moving my hands but, no, the system thinks I am not in control.

Is this common. ie. Do others experience this or is it a return to the dealership for this car I only got late last September (2024)
