Morning.
I have had this car now for over a year and in December it went in for its first service and also a recall to "flatten the cars software" and reinstall. The dealership couldnt tell me why.
Before this the car was exciting and a pleasure to drive. After the service I was driving and noticed a yellow sign stating "elecltrical probem" on the dash. I contacted the dealer and its booked in to be looked at at the end of Feb. Thats was the earliest space available.
They said it was OK to drive and they would see me in February.
Later on that day it broke down on a bad bend of a main road. stating Electrical Engine Failure. There wa no waring the car just stopped. I called the Renault number which just sends a text to your phone to fill in the car details from the RAC.
It took the RAC 5 hours to recover the car, and after some testing they felt like the car suffered from a bad battery in the boot. The changed the battery and all seemed fine. They did mention that Renault although partners with them, doesn't give them any infomration on how the car works or any codes the car produces, so keep the date for the check up in Feb.
It has been fine since but the welcome screens now are not in time and sometimes the screen with the Multimedia system doesn't come on until you are driving.
Yesterday the car broke down again. the same issue as before and this time on a roundabout.
The error appeared and within 2 secs the car just stops
Another call to the Renault number and a text fro the RAC stating they couldnt come out as they were busy, they said around an hour later they would send a partner to recover the car 7 hours later. The police passed and said the would need to recover the car as I was stucl on a roundabout. They stated i'ts not safe to leave or wait until the RAC show up. But I would need to pay £190 for the recovery company.
At the moment the car is recovered to a compund which charges a daily rate to keep the car there. So far I have paid the £190, but I have no reply or help from the dealership. They don't seem bothered to help and at the moment waiting for Renault UK to get in touch. It's 1pm now and it was reported to the Renault dealer at 8am. Not one person seems interested and I will never by another Renault ever again.
I am unsure if I want to drive or own the car now, incase after the repair the same thing happens at 70 MPH on a motorway.
What options do I have?
I Hate This Car

I would post this on the Renault Austral UK Club Facebook page. No one replies on here
