My Austral Iconic Manufactured 12/2023 had a software update awaiting installation today
I checked the update status and it advised an update was pending and would install once the car had been locked.
Check yours. I'm not sure what it contains, but I am sure I read something about the infotainment system, but I may be wrong here.
It may have downloaded itself over the air but I only saw it listed after I had connected it to my wifi network. This may be coincidental however.
Check it out, I'll feed back any changes I may notice later.

The software update is related to connectivity and is meant to improve this across borders ?
The thing we are all waiting for in relation to the blank radio icons is still elusive i'm afraid.

Come on Renault for goodness sake, it can't be that difficult , my Lidl £20 radio can show Dab Icons let alone a forty grand car.
So much for the advertising claim of,
"Renault Austral, 75 times around the world to ensure its quality
Forgot about the radio did we ?

I have been trying to get an update to the Austral Software for quite some time. In fact I have had my Austral for 9 months now and the Heads up Display still intermittently fades in and out of directions especially near a roundabout!
I tried once more with the technical team to ask them to address this and this is an extract of the reply I got back from Renault today:
The colleagues from the technical team have analysed your case and they have informed that your OpenR Link has the latest software installed.

At present there is no other version of the software that addresses the issues that you have reported.

I personally think this is a poor response from Renault.

Latest reply from Renault:

Thank you for the email you sent me on Wednesday concerning your OpenR Link.

When you reported the issues you were experiencing to the dealership they informed you that a software update was necessary to resolve the issue.

The colleagues who we contact are not the team who actually creates the new software, so they can report issues that are happening to the developers, however they are not able to create customised software for each issue reported.

At present there is no new software you can install on your OpenR Link. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience this may cause you.

I never have asked for ‘customised’ software,, I would just like the product ie. The car to work properly!!

Chatting with random people who just fire up pre-written responses is not going to get you anywhere IMO. I've been there with another manufacturer and it didn't help at all.

Take it to the dealer you bought it from and demand it to be fixed. If it's under warranty and not working as advertised, they must repair it, there's no alternative to this for them. Start yelling in front of potential new customers if nothing else helps!
